The Tompkins Chamber and Serendipity Catering are teaming up to offer five free movie nights at Stewart Park this summer. The series begins Friday, July 29th with “The Goonies” and runs through the end of August.

In addition to “The Goonies,” a 1985 classic that takes two brothers on an undersea adventure after they discover a treasure map, this summer’s lineup includes last year’s Marvel hit “Shang-Chi,” Disney’s “Encanto,” Lin Manuel Miranda’s musical “In the Heights,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Everyone’s welcome to bring a blanket or chairs to Stewart Park for the movie. Refreshments will be available from Serendipity starting at 7, and the movie starts when it’s dark, about 8pm. Serendipity Catering’s food truck will have full meals, movie snacks, cookies, cupcakes, local wine and beer, and specialty cocktails available.

In the event of inclement weather, Movies in the Park will move indoors, with each Friday’s showing taking place at Cinemapolis, starting at 7:30pm.
