Kiran Abbavaram is back with a new film titled Meter. Athulya Ravi makes her Telugu debut with this movie, which hits screens today. Check out the review to know how the movie is.
Story:
Arjun Kalyan (Kiran Abbavaram) is an enthusiastic and tough individual who doesn’t want to be a police officer like his father. However, he ends up becoming a Sub Inspector in Hyderabad. He tries to get himself suspended, but ends up gaining a good reputation. Unexpectedly, he finds himself crossing paths with Home Minister Kantam Baireddy (Dhanush Pawan). Later, Arjun gets to know a shocking truth. What is the truth? What did Arjun do next? The film has all the answers.
Plus Points:
For the first time, Kiran Abbavaram plays an out-and-out action role in this movie. His comedy timing and attitude as a police officer are good to watch. Besides performance, he once again proves that he is a good dancer. His steps in the mass song, which comes in the pre-climax, are a feast for his fans.
Dhanush Pawan, who played Home Minister Kantam Baireddy, is impressive. His face-off scenes with Kiran Abbavaram are nice. He has a good future as a villain in TFI.
Posani Krishna Murali and Sapthagiri are a big relief, as they entertained audiences with their punch dialogues throughout the film. The rest of the actors are just okay in their given roles.
Minus Points:
It is a nice idea to establish himself as a mass actor, but Kiran Abbavaram should have chosen a nice story that is engaging and entertaining. He believed in the poorly written script that is a mixture of many known scenes from several old films.
The story is completely routine with an improper and illogical screenplay. Some of the scenes in the film are completely over the top and illogical.
Heroine Athulya Ravi is just limited to a few scenes and appears in songs only. Her character has nothing to do with the story.
Debutant director Ramesh Kaduri should have come up with an engaging story and screenplay to make Meter a great film. Unfortunately, the film lacks the newness that makes one sit and enjoy the film.
Technical Aspects:
The director should have concentrated more on the screenplay and story. Music by Sai Kartheek is fine and so is the cinematography by Venkat C Dileep. Editing should have been done more crisply. Production values are neat.
Verdict:
On the whole, Meter is a mediocre police action drama that is boring and unimpressive because of its routine and predictable story. Except for watching Kiran Abbavaram in an out-and-out mass role, the film has nothing new to deliver. You can skip this film.
