Meet Cute star Kaley Cuoco movies and shows to watch

[ad_1]

Kaley Cuoco is definitely a name most people know. Her most notable role is probably as Penny on The Big Bang Theory. But the actress has been in other big shows and movies since the early 2000s.

Most recently, she has a new film now streaming on Peacock where she plays opposite Pete Davidson. Meet Cute follows the story of Sheila (Cuoco) and Gary (Davidson). Though it seems like it was love at first sight, we find out Sheila actually has a time machine. She’s been using it to travel back over and over again to change Gary into the perfect man.

This isn’t her only new role. The actress is certainly staying booked and busy! We can also look forward to a couple of other upcoming projects including new Peacock series Based On a True Story. She’s also developing a limited series about Doris Day where she will star as the icon.

While we wait to see her in the new roles, you might want to take a look back at the talented actress’ early work. After appearing in multiple shows in the mid to late 90s, she got her breakthrough role. Read on to find out what it was!

Kaley Cuoco shows to watch

8 Simple Rules

* Stream on Disney+ (only two of three seasons available)

Before her big break, Cuoco appeared on multiple shows like Ellen, Ladies Man, 7th Heaven, and even voiced Brandy Harrington on Disney Channel’s Brandy & Mr. Whiskers. But it wasn’t until 8 Simple Rules that she really gained attention. The popular sitcom series starred John Ritter and Katey Sagal.

It followed the parents as they raised their three children, including Cuoco’s character Bridget Hennessy. The eldest of the siblings, she appears as the stereotypical beautiful and popular blonde who’s interested in her looks and boys. After her father dies (the real-life death of Ritter), she starts to mature.

Charmed season 8 (original series)

* Stream on Peacock

In the final season of the original Charmed series, Cuoco took on the role of Billie Jenkins. This is actually the first time I’d seen the actress, and she did an amazing job! Billie is a witch who has the powers of telekinesis and projection. She experiences a heartbreaking turn when she’s forced to vanquish her long-lost sister Christy Jenkins.

The Big Bang Theory

* Stream on HBO Max

Of course, The Big Bang Theory is probably the star’s most notable role! We all know and love her as Penny, the next door neighbor of brilliant physicists Leonard and Sheldon. Penny’s character comes a long way and it’s great to see how she matures and establishes herself as the seasons went on.

Harley Quinn

* Stream on HBO Max

The talent uses her voice acting skills in the critically-acclaimed animated series, Harley Quinn. Cuoco voices the title character of the popular DC Universe, and also serves and an executive producer. The show follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker. With the help of Poison Ivy and a crew of castoffs, she tries to earn a seat the the biggest table in villainy – the Legion of the Doom.

The Flight Attendant

* Stream on HBO Max

In my opinion, Cuoco’s Cassie Bowden in The Flight Attendant is her strongest role yet. The series follows Cassie, an alcoholic flight attendant who tends to make bad decisions and ends up tangled up in murders. She wakes up to find the man she slept with the night before dead, but can’t remember what happened.

Both the series and actress have been nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards, and they certainly deserved to win. Perhaps if a potential third season happens, they will be able to take home an award!

In 2014, the actress played Hannah Rinald in Authors Anonymous. Gretchen Palmer is another character Cuoco portrays in the 2015 movie, The Wedding Ringer. That’s when he calls Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), owner of a company that provides attendants for friendless grooms. As he tries to pull the lie off, a bromance unexpectedly develops between him and Jimmy.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip

* Stream on Disney+

Cuoco lends her voice in the fourth installment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks live action film series, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. She is one of the Chipettes, Eleanor. Her character is the counterpart to Theodore, and the two share their love of food and cooking.

The Man from Toronto

* Stream on Netflix

In Netflix’s The Man from Toronto, Cuoco plays Anne. In the movie,  a case of mistaken identity forces a bumbling entrepreneur to team up with a notorious assassin in hopes of staying alive. The film generally got negative reviews, but our favorite actress still did a great job onscreen as always!
