The Bowie University Athletics Office of Media Relations is responsible for all media relations regarding the Bulldogs’ athletic department and its 13 intercollegiate athletic teams.

MAIN INFORMATION
Accreditations of working press and photographers for Bowie State home events will be handled by Bowie State Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Dr. Jolisa Williams. All requests should be made as early as possible and limited to working press only. Requests made within 24 hours of the event may not be considered. Letters of identification may be picked up at the ticket booth located in front of the Leonidas S. James Physical Education Complex on the day of the event or in advance at the Media Relations Office located in the Leonidas S. James Physical Education Complex, Room 124A.



WEBSITES AND NEW MEDIA
Web-based media from sites affiliated with established, nationally or regionally recognized newsgathering organizations are eligible for media credentials. Online media outlets with an emphasis on recruiting potential student-athletes (who meet the above qualifications) may request one (1) credential for the purpose of writing a game/event summary. Identification data will not be provided to sites operating online agencies that are in any way related to gambling. Identification data will also not be provided to “fan-submitted” or unedited sites that are not affiliated with an established newsgathering organization and/or sites whose sole purpose is fan-generated message boards that allow anonymous comments to be posted .



LETTERS OF CREDIT

Please contact Dr. Jolisa Williams by email no later than close of business on Thursday in the week before the match. Your name will be added to the list of authorized personnel of this game. All persons may be subject to ID and a non-listed person will NOT be allowed access. If you’re not sure about your personal status, it’s safer to email the name in advance just in case – better to be safe than sorry. There absolutely is NO media, photographers and videographers allowed in the team box at Bulldog Stadium during the game! If seen in the player’s box during a match, you will be removed from the stadium immediately!

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF IDENTIFIABLE DATA
Media credentials will only be issued to working media. Media Credentials are non-transferable and their use by anyone other than members of the working press is unauthorized. Media credentials used in an unauthorized manner will be immediately revoked. News organizations that allow unauthorized persons to use credentials will have their credentials revoked for the remainder of the year. All media credentials remain the property of the Bowie State Athletics Department and must be returned upon request.



ADDITIONAL INTERVIEWS
Bowie State student-athletes and coaches will be available for in-person or phone interviews before or after practice. Player interviews must be coordinated through Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Dr. Jolisa Willimas, at least 24 hours in advance. If a telephone interview is desired, student-athletes will be given the number and telephone interviewer at a time that does not interfere with the student-athlete’s academic schedule. Student-athlete ID numbers will not be distributed under any circumstances.



INTERVIEW AFTER THE EVENTS
Bowie State University is committed to an equal access policy for both male and female reporters and photographers. The Bowie State locker room is closed to the media. Following the mandatory reflection period, the selected student-athletes and/or coach(s) will be made available for interviews at a predetermined location.

Media are asked to submit a list of student-athlete interview requests to Dr. Jolisa Williams prior to the end of the event. The attending SID will select the student-athletes to be interviewed after the event. If no visiting SID is available, media are asked to send their request to Dr. Jolisa Williams.



PHOTOGRAPHY
Bowie State follows NCAA and CIAA rules regarding members of the media filming games. Only properly accredited photographers will be allowed into the designated photo areas of AC Jordan Arena, Bulldog Stadium and other Bowie State athletic facilities as specified by the NCAA and CIAA.


Photo credentials are subject to revocation by the Bowie State Athletic Media Relations Office at any time.
