While Jyothika has mainly acted in Tamil films, she has also done a few films in Malayalam and Telugu. Her last Malayalam film was 2009’s Seetha Kalyanam, so Kaathal will see her return to Mollywood after a gap of 14 years.
Kaathal: The Core will be directed by Jeo Baby, who has done films like 2 Penkuttikal, Kunju Daivam, Kilometers and Kilometers and The Great Indian Kitchen. The 2021 release The Great Indian Kitchen received a fantastic response and recently at the Filmfare Awards South, the film’s lead actress Nimisha Sajayan won the Best Actress (Malayalam) award.
