Love is in the air

It may not be an exaggeration to say Khasagi Putagalu is yet another content-oriented movie added to the list of such releases during this year. Director Santosh Srikantappa, who graduated from being a short movie director to a feature film director, has proved his mettle by handling the megaphone with aplomb.

Khasagi Putagalu begins with the camera focusing on a photo studio where two assistants are discussing their owner Surya’s (Vishwa RN) skills in working behind the camera. Surya is seen riding his motorbike and occasionally visiting his friend Salim (Sridhar Gangavathi) who also specialises in making Ganesha idols. At this juncture, the director introduces a flashback to narrate the story of Surya and his friends.

Then we see how Surya falls in love with Bhoomi (Leonilla D’Souza) and how Surya and Salim assume that Bhoomi has died in an accident when the bus in which she was travelling met with a road accident.

Meanwhile, Salim happens to meet Bhoomi and explain how Surya is shocked after coming to know about the bus accident. He wants to convey to Surya that Bhoomi is alive. The climax is what happens to Salim, Surya and Bhoomi.

As far as the performance of the artistes is concerned, Vishwa and Leonilla D’Souza have vied with each other for the best acting spot.

Vishwa has put all efforts to do justice to his selection to play the lead role in this movie. If he hones up acting skills, he will be an asset for Sandalwood. Leonilla D’Souza looks cute and beautiful. Her performance in romantic scenes, especially her style of winking, is quite remarkable. If she takes acting seriously, she too has the potential to become the most sought after actress in the Kannada film industry.

.

Character artistes Dinesh Mangaluru and Prashanth Natana have provided good support. Sridhar Gangavathi too has acted well.

Songs are good; especially the song Aragalegi Nee is melodious. Music by Vasuki Vaibhav is good. The movie has some message to society. It emphasizes on the need for inclusivity. The scenes where a Muslim man makes Ganesha idols and donates money to help a Hindu family are the highlights of the movie.

The movie Khasagi Putagalu is worth watching for youth who crave to watch romantic movies.
