It’s been more than a month since Johnny Depp won the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. However, recently a video of Depp’s lawyer Camille Vazquez started making the rounds, in which she can be heard calling her client a rapist. As Heard’s fans began circulating the video to express their support for the actress, Camille finally broke her silence on the matter. In the viral courtroom video, Camille said in her closing argument, “Amber never thought she would have to face her abuser.” In response to the same, US magazine Newsweek quoted sources close to the lawyer as saying Camille meant to say “victim of violence” in the viral clip. Although the jury found that the actress had defamed Depp in her 2018 post and awarded him more than $10 million, they sided with Heard on one of her three counterclaims, finding that Depp had defamed her through comments, made by his attorney Adam Waldman in 2020. Depp and Heard are now in the process of appealing the verdicts in their defamation lawsuit in Virginia.
