Made on a measly budget of just ₹16 crore and with no big stars, The Kashmir Files ended up minting ₹253 crore nett in India and ₹341 crore gross worldwide. For comparison, a few big ones Bollywood movieswhich boast much bigger budgets and fronted by top A-listers, have failed miserably this year in Rankingwith many blaming him for the recent, highly irrational and completely unfounded “boycott bollywood‘ tendency. Pallavi Joshi reveals that Bollywood movies are not working lately

Revealing what ails Bollywood in a conversation with Hindustan Times, Pallavi said that although she is not an expert and can’t talk about films that didn’t work, she can definitely answer why her film worked, citing that the audience realized the intent she and the team pulled into the theme and their performances and emphasized that people identify with honest artists. She also added that today’s bollywood movies are not a mirror of the Indian society today and hence people cannot relate to them.
