Aamir Khan Starrer Laal Singh Chadha and Akshay Kumar in the lead role Raksha Bandhan were released on August 11, 2022. Both the films were expected to take the box office by storm, but that didn’t happen. Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan had a slow start at the box office and even the holidays didn’t help the film get a boost in the numbers. On the other hand, Nikhil Siddhartha starrer Kartikeya 2 is performing well at the box office and is already a hit.
Karthikeya 2 box office collection
Karthikeya 2 in 11 days collected Rs. 57.25 crores (all languages) which is pretty damn good. The Hindi dubbed version of the film has also received a great response. In 10 days, Karthikeya 2 Hindi collected Rs. 16.30 crores which is fantastic. The Hindi version of the film fared much better than many mid-budget Bollywood films. The film is expected to continue its dream run at the box office in the coming days.
Laal Singh Chaddha box office collection
Laal Singh Chaddha turned out to be a disaster. In week 2, so far, the film has collected around Rs. 6 crores which is very disappointing. The film has collected Rs. 56.03 crore in 13 days; one of Aamir Khan’s biggest disasters.
Raksha Bandhan box office collection
Talking about Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan, the film in 13 days has collected Rs. 42.60 crores. This is Akshay’s third consecutive film to have such a disastrous response at the box office. All eyes are now on Ram Sethu which is slated to release on Diwali this year.
Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan collections are lower than Karthikeya 2 (all languages). This is an alarming situation for Bollywood as not many Hindi films have made a mark at the box office this year.
Now, on August 25, Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger is scheduled to hit the big screens. It is a pan-India release, so it will be interesting to see what kind of response it gets at the box office.
