The U-19 women’s cricket team won their first World Cup on Sunday and wishes are pouring in from all sides. Bollywood celebrities also share congratulations on their social media.
While Amitabh Bachchan said “khatiya khadi kardi”, Taapsee asked her fans to remember the faces of the cricketers who performed this feat.

Posting on Twitter the World Cup win, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “INDIA CHAMPIONS !! Women’s U-19 World Cup champions in cricket .. beat the British hands down .. khatiya khadi kar di .. INDIA.”

Taapsee shared a few photos of the cricket team and wrote: “The smiles on these young girls’ faces are priceless. Congratulations champions. Let’s remember these faces. Today we won our first World Cup in women’s history. And happy birthday Captain Shefali Verma”. You finally got the well-deserved gift. That’s the first women’s World Cup… and I’m sure there will be many more… we’re just getting started!”

Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram account and again shared a post mentioning the victory of the Indian women’s team and posted an applauding emoji. Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, wrote ‘Way to go Champions.’ Kajol also took to her Instagram story and shared a photo of the U-19 Indian Women’s Cricket team, writing, “You made us all proud.”
