Canadian director and actor Rishabh Shetty impressed everyone with his latest critically acclaimed film Kantara, which jumped language barriers to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2022. While Rishabh talks about what has worked for his film, he recently reacted to Nawazuddin Siddiqui saying that he is jealous of him.
Speaking on Agenda Aaj Tak 22, Rishab and Nawazuddin shared their personal experiences of working in the film industry. During their conversation, Nawaz admitted that he envied Rishabh’s work and said that if someone does a good job, then there is a sense of jealousy and healthy competition. He also added that it keeps you on your toes and pushes you to work harder.
Responding to Nawaz, Rishabh said that he has seen many films that the Sacred Games actor has done and called him a senior among the middle class people who struggled and worked their way up to reach where he is now. He also called Nawaz a very big inspiration. During the chat, Nawaz also expressed his desire to work in Kannada films and also get an opportunity to work with Rishabh.
“I have watched so many of Nawaz bhai’s films and I have seen his journey full of hard work and effort. He is like us, we are middle class people with no background but we want to enter the industry and make it big. He is a very big inspiration. He came from the theater and did so many small roles (before he got big). Even we have done such small roles in Canadian cinema before we got our big break. He is our senior, we have the same journey,” Rishabh said.
