Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: Would Rohan and Pooja still be together today?

As a side bonus, he has now transformed into a cinematic hunk who will up your own street cred as the campus diva rather nicely—what’s not to love?

Two decades after its release, K3G continues to be counted among Bollywood’s finest marvels. When a tycoon family’s dysfunctional dad boots his son from the family manor for marrying someone beneath their social class, he must move to an equally sizeable manor in London. It is then up to his younger brother and sister-in-law (played by Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan respectively) to bring the family back together, finding love of their own along the way—but would it last beyond cuffing season?

For starters, Rohan’s muscle cars could be more than just a flex—they could be armour to deflect the trauma of having grown up in an openly fatphobic family. Shahzeen Shivdasani, relationship expert and author of Love, Lust and Lemons, believes that drastic physical transformations are generally prompted by past insecurities—and it is natural for those feelings of inadequacy to linger. “However, the onus of working through them isn’t on their relationship as that is Rohan’s personal journey to overcome. It would, however, help if he works on communicating them to Pooja and, in turn, she is sensitive towards his feelings.”
