Irish Celebrities Show Up In Style At Electric Picnic

A host of Irish celebrities, influencers and media personalities were among those braving the elements during the weekend for the final festival of the Summer.

Electric Picnic returned to the fields of Stradbally, County Offaly over the weekend following a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The festival welcomed 70,000 festival-goers to come together over the wet weekend, to enjoy some of the best acts in Ireland, and further afield.

Dermot Kennedy, Megan Thee Stallion, Tame Impala are just a handful of the big names that performed for festival-goers over the course of the weekend.

The festival also saw the debut of the first drug-monitoring lab on site, and also had the introduction of a podcast stage, Ah Here Now! Which saw some of the top podcasts, and podcasters taking to Electric Picnic for a live show.

Podcast and podcasters included Virgin Media news correspondents Richard Chambers and Zara Reilly along with their political correspondent co-host Gavan Reilly; Hold My Drink podcast with influencers Charleen Murphy and Ellie Kelly as well as comic Joanne McNally and Vogue Williams for their first live show of their award-winning podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me.

Torrential rain was the predominant weather over the weekend, turning grass to mud, and putting the tents to the test — which many did not.
