Talking about her fiance Dhawal, who’s a government employee, Sayli said, “We know each other since three years. He was my friend and recently proposed marriage, to which I said yes. Dhawal has always been inspiring and motivating me to push my limits and do bigger things in life. When I used to sing in shows, he used to tell me, ‘Sayli, you are made for bigger and better things in life because you have a voice that sets you apart.’ I am a person who happily settles for what I get in life, so I have never dreamt big. But he made me dream big. Now I am doing well in my career, but he tells to aim even higher and try out different things. His family is also very supportive of me and my career. I am blessed to have them as my family now.”
So, is marriage on the cards soon? “This year is out of the question, but we plan to tie the knot in May next year. We are still finalising the date because I will be going abroad on a music tour next year,” she said.
Some of her friends from Indian Idol made it it to her engagement. She said, “I had invited all my friends from the reality show, but a few couldn’t come due to their work commitments and I understand that. Nihal Tauro, Nachiket Lele and Anjali Gaikwad were present at the function.”
Life has changed a lot since last year ever since she participated in Indian Idol 12. She shared, “I used to sing for shows earlier, but that came to a halt during the lockdown. That’s when Dhawal told me about Indian Idol 12 auditions and I shared my video with them. I have done reality shows earlier, but the kind of fame and love I received
from here is very different. I gained more confidence.”
