Elegance coach Karina, known as millidollarlady on TikTok, shares in a video how to fix the minor style mistakes you’re making when trying to appear expensive and elegant, but actually make you appear more tacky and cheap.

Karina’s social account primarily consists of advice regarding opportunities to build wealth, investing tips, and overall fulfillment practices.

She is a self-described certified image consultant with the goal to help women become a “million dollar lady.”

In terms of elegance, Karina emphasizes that looking your best is one of the factors and expresses the importance of “less is more” and minor details to appear graceful and classy.

The premise of the video is to show women how to look graceful, elegant, classy and their personal best without appearing flashy.

The video begins with Karina in the center of the video with the words “Can you tell the huge difference in the style?” written on the screen.

The elegance coach then asks the question, “What is the main difference between these two photos?”

The first photo shown on a greenscreen is an image of a woman wearing a Gucci-label t-shirt, Gucci belt, and jeans while holding a Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag.

“Would this convey to you class, elegance style, taste, or will it send a different message?”, Karina asks the viewers.

The second photo shown via greenscreen is of a woman dressed in a monochromatic white and off-white pants suit set, complete with a ribbed white turtle-neck shirt underneath and gold accent jewelry.

According to Karina, the woman’s outfit conveys the epitome of elegance.

“The quality of her clothes look really high-end, but we don’t know if they are designer or not,” the image consultant states. “It is confidence in silence.”

The initial image of a woman wearing designer labels and insignias appears to be “a bunch of loud screaming” Karina says.

All she sees are a plethora of unnecessary “momentary trends” that comes across as too much.

“It does not convey the message of class and doesn’t highlight any of your features as well,” she adds.

Wearing a multitude of high-end brands also doesn’t showcase your figure, style, and personal taste in clothing.

Many people in the comment section agreed with Karina’s opinion and offered their support.

“Exhibit A: Too much branding, your trying to look like money but it isn’t giving. Exhibit B: Just right, can be worn comfortably and fashionably,” one TikTok user commented.

“Exhibit b is so comfy and classic. Exhibit a is ….what I see as a fashion designer is a walking billboard for a brand,” another viewer wrote.
