CAN swapping out your shirt make your legs look longer?
According to one fashion expert, making the easy change may be the fastest way to look taller and slimmer.

On Instagram, Katrina Bowman shares fashion and style tips with her 219k followers under the handle Trending With Trina.
In her latest clip, Bowman stood in front of the camera in a plain white shirt and jeans.
As she gestured at the bottom hem of her shirt, Bowman frowned and shook her finger to signal “no.”
“Instead of wearing tops with a straight horizontal hem, choose curved hemlines,” Bowman wrote in the caption.
Then, with a flash of editing magic, Bowman whisked away the white shirt and it was instantly replaced by a black top instead.
It wasn’t just the color of the shirt that was different. Bowman traced the curved edge of the new top’s hem.

“The shape draws the eyes up and makes you look slimmer and your legs longer,” she explained.
In the caption of the video, Bowman explained why the trick was so effective.
“Horizontal lines can make things look wider than they are,” Bowman explained.
Because your shirt’s hem usually hits at the hips or waist, a straight hem will make that area seem wider.
“Using curved lines strategically can create length, especially in areas that naturally have more width like the hips,” she added.
In the comments section, viewers thanked Bowman for her advice and provided feedback of their own.
“Love curved hem,” one happy commenter wrote. “So flattering!”
Another one joked gently about the efficacy of the tip. “No hemline is going to fool anyone into thinking my legs are longer than they are!” the woman wrote.
