TONIGHT 15 celebrities will kick off their Strictly Come Dancing journey for the first time and start the long road to win the Glitterball Trophy.
Viewers got the first glimpse of the pairings yesterday and already a few famous faces look set on making it to the final.
According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Matt Goss, Jayde Adams, Hamza Yassin and Tyler West stood out as contenders for the prize – thanks to their connection with their pro partners.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darren explained how being tactile, communication and an instant spark all play a part in which couple will lift the trophy by Christmas.
Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova
Matt came out fighting, insisting he intends to win the competition – a serious statement, but it’s going to be interesting to see how far he goes.
It’s clear he is a very determined and motivated person and as he’s used to being on stage and performing, we could see him go some way this series. Matt came over as being very genuine, he held fantastic eye contact with Nadiya.
He appears to be quite a spiritual person and responds well to his feelings. We saw him looking down and to the right with his eyes often – a classic sign that suggests he goes by his gut instinct.
Both Matt and Nadiya seemed tactile with one another from the get-go and there appeared to be an instant connection between the two. Matt may just be one to watch in the competition, he has a real intensity in his face, like he is on a mission.
Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer
Jayde instantly appears as a real confident character, who is used to being on stage and in control. It’ll be interesting to see if she can take a step back and allow Karen to lead and teach her as the series goes on.
Jayde is very animated in her body language and appeared to instantly bond with Karen. We saw the two stars hug on their pairing being announced and they began to match and mirror each other’s body language – a strong indication of rapport being present.
Karen was seen putting her arms around and over Jayde, with both already comfortable with having each other in their proximal zones. They displayed a very interesting dynamic that could be one to watch.
Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal
We saw a fantastic initial meeting between Hamza and Jowita – there was an instant rapport and connection, with a great show of tactileness between the pair and lots of hugging.
Hamza is a very bubbly character and very down to earth, there are no false pretenses with him.
Communication is key between each couple on the show and Hamza and Jowita are already demonstrating both verbally and non-verbally a clear means of communication – if they keep this up, they could go all the way.
Tyler West and Dianne Buswell
Instantly we saw lots of genuine emotion and happiness from both Tyler and Dianne as they met for the first time.
Both were quite tactile with one another from the outset, which will obviously help the initial awkwardness of getting to know each other as the weeks go on.
There was clearly an initial spark, which we have seen become an important element in the success of couples dancing on Strictly in previous years.
Tyler and Dianne could use this to their advantage in order to progress week on week.
