Just like the general public, Ileana D’Cruz too has also enjoyed watching some big scale spectacular movies of the recent past. The actress believes that the success of films like RRR or Pathaan in theatres and the adoration they have received from viewers are only a phase or trend that will soon pass.
Ileana D’Cruz talks about film trends; says, “I am not someone who would just jump in a running train”
Ileana told ETimes, “We have seen so many trends. There was this trend of women centric films too.” With south films doing great, when asked if she would like to go back to doing them, she replied, “South films are doing well. It is great, absolutely. I feel in a way I am not someone who would just jump in a running train. If the project feels right, if the character feels right… then maybe. It all comes straight down with the gut feeling.”
Ileana further added, “If you are sitting with a director, producer and you feel they are going to make a great project and you feel like you would love working with them then I would do it. I had that feeling when I met one of the directors of my upcoming project. I hadn’t even seen their work, but somewhere I felt that they are going to be amazing with their work.”
Talking about working in south cinema again, she stated, “When it comes to jumping in the running trend, I have worked down south for 6 years and it feels great. If a sort of a project came up where it made sense then I don’t think why I wouldn’t do it. But I am not someone to say achcha chalo yeh trend chal raha hai toh let’s do it.”
On the professional front, Ileana D’Cruz was last seen in The Big Bull starring alongside Abhishek Bachchan. She will be next seen in Tera Kya Hoga Lovely alongside Randeep Hooda. She will also appear in a Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi starrer.
