‘I Hugged Dead Bodies And Told Them To Come Back To Me’

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are two of the biggest actors in Bollywood and they both share a great bond of friendship. However, there were times when it was said SRK and Salman were at loggerheads but they have never spoken ill about each other in public. Both the actors have always gushed over their bond, showering praises on each other. As we speak of this, in an old interview, Shah Rukh accepted Salman letting down and revealed he finds it difficult to apologize to old friends.

Back in 2004, during his appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 3, the Dil Toh Pagal Hai actor talked about his relationship with Salman and said if Salman has an issue with him, 100 percent it was he who must have let him down. When the host Karan Johar asked King Khan, “Do you think Salman Khan has a problem with you? Because you couldn’t keep up with the friendship?.” To this, the 56-year-old actor stated, “That’s what I said. I can’t keep friends. I don’t know how to keep friends. I would not like to blame anyone for disliking me. I take all the credit for the fact that people love me. But if people dislike me, it has nothing to do with them. It’s all on me.” ALSO READ: Karan Arjun Is Back! Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan To Team Up For Aditya Chopra’s Biggest Action Thriller-Report

SRK added, “If Salman Khan has an issue with me, 100 percent I have let him down. Farah has an issue with me, 100 percent I have let her down. If you (KJo) have an issue with me, then I have let you down. And I feel sad that I have let people down. The funny thing is — as much as I know how to say sorry, I can’t get myself to say sorry.”

Elaborating further, Shah Rukh also mentioned that although he loves hugging people, he can’t hug an old friend and say ‘come back to him’. In fact, he could not do that with his own parents. “I hugged their dead bodies and told them to ‘come back to me’ and they didn’t. So, I’ve lost that quality to call people back. If Salman is disturbed with me its got to do with me and he is completely in the right. I wish I knew how to pick up a telephone and say sorry, but I don’t know how to say sorry and am too old to learn that,” Shah Rukh further explained.

Shah Rukh and Salman had worked together in films like Karan Arjun, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Both have also made cameo appearances in their respective films ‘Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega’ and ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’. The Dabangg actor will now be seen making a special appearance in SRK’s comeback film ‘Paathan.’

Shah Rukh, on the other hand, is making a cameo in Tiger 3.
