“I felt cheated; When I watch Prabhas…’

The makers of Adipurush have been facing huge criticism ever since they released the teaser of the film featuring Prabhas as Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. While director Om Raut defended the film’s VFX saying that it is not meant for mobile phones but for big screens, Vishnu Manchu has now shared his honest views on the film’s teaser as a Telugu person. Expressing his displeasure over the teaser of Adipurush, Vishnu told DNA in an interview that everyone thinks they are making Ramayan and it will be a live-action mainstream film. But no one expected it to be an animated film. So people were disappointed with the result and hence it faced massive trolling on social media. He further stated that Adipurush is on the lines of Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone starrer Kochadaiiyaan which was an animated film. He said that the makers failed to meet the expectations of the audience and they felt cheated after watching the teaser. “You have to prepare the audience. If you don’t prepare and lie to the audience, then this is the reaction you will get. I felt cheated,” said Vishnu. Talking about Prabhas, Vishnu said that when he watched the actor after Baahubali in a Ramayan adaptation with a big director like Om Raut, who had previously done a film like Tanhaji, he expected Adipurush to be a grand affair. “So when these guys get together, people are going to expect big. All of a sudden, come down and show them that animation, so people are going to react that way,” he concluded.

Adipurush was earlier trolled for its poor VFX seen in its teaser. Then the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra, objected to the god Hanuman being depicted in a leather suit. Saif Ali Khan’s look as Raavan was also much criticized. However, the film’s director Om Raut defended the image and his creative choice.
