The news of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up for the third installment of the Deadpool superhero movie sent Marvel fans into a frenzy all over the world. Since it was announced that Hugh Jackman will be returning as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, he’s now teasing what fans can expect between Wolverine and Deadpool, just setting the right tone for what’s to come.
In a recent interview, Jackman talked a bit about the equation that Wolverine and Deadpool will have in the film. When the actor was asked to categorize the state of the relationship between the two superheroes, he replied, “How do I categorize it? Ten is very close, zero is reality, we are zero, we are opposites, we hate each other.”
“I’m just talking from my point of view, (Logan) is frustrated with him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from it in this movie, so I’ll probably be hitting him in the head a lot,” he also said on The Empire Film Podcast.
During his recent appearance on The Jess Cagle Show, Jackman talked about how they were able to bring Wolverine back and then integrate him into the MCU, assuring fans that Deadpool 3 won’t mess with the Logan timeline.
The last time X-Men fans saw Jackman as Wolverine was in 2016’s R-rated Logan, directed by James Mangold. Wolverine died at the end of the movie. And given that Reynolds and Jackman have a long superhero history together, it will be interesting to see how their characters, Deadpool and Wolverine, will play out their relationship.
Deadpool 3 is set for release on November 8, 2024.
