It’s finally time to kick off the 74th annual Emmy Award show and Hollywood’s best and brightest are ready for their close ups. Here, a look at how nominees, presenters and attendees got red-carpet ready for the television’s most illustrious night of the year.
Alexandra Daddario
Outstanding supporting actress nominee for The White Lotus, Daddario stopped in to see celebrity facials Angela Caglea for a Rose Quartz facial ahead of the awards show.
Rhea Seehorn
Better Call Saul’s Seehorn, a nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series also stopped by Caglia’s studio for a Rose Quartz facial glow for the big night.
Christina Ricci
“To get Christina’s sculpted, glowing look for the Emmys I made sure FaceGym tools were in my kit. The whole prep routine takes no time at all but guarantees instant results, the cheekbones seriously pop after using the Multi-Sculpt Gua Sha ($60), it’s my go-to for defining facial contours,” shared celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendano.
Jung Ho-Yeon
Aesthetician Iván Pol treated Squid Games supporting actress nominee with his signature “The Beauty Sandwich” treatment featuring N°1 de Chanel Revitalizing Essence Lotion ($120). “I infused this petal-clear complex composed of niacinamide and Red Camellia Extract to reduce the appearance of pores and imperfections,” said Pol. “The perfect red carpet dressing to Plump and Radiate the skin for a glow that lasts.”
Mindy Kaling
During Kaling’s award show prep with master esthetician Sarah Akram, the star was given all the benefits of LED from head to toe with the Omnilux Contour Neck and Decollete ($395) flexible noninvasive light therapy device as well as the Ominlux Contour Gloves ($345). The writer, creator and executive producer of the Sex Life of College Girls and Never Have I Ever is set to appear as a presenter during the broadcast.
Kerry Washington
“Preparing for the carpet starts a few days in advance,” says celebrity makeup artist Carola Gonzalez, who treated Washington with a combination of FaceGym tools. “To start, I like to use the Hydrating Active Roller ($65) a few days before the event to hydrate the skin and give it a dewy, radiant appearance. Today, I used the FaceGym Pro EMS Tool ($710), the Medi Lift Eye Mask ($572), and the Multi-Sculpt Contouring Tool ($60). Each tool is easy to use and delivers quick results.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Prepped by celebrity makeup guru Vincent Oquando, Gyllenhaal looks celestial thanks to a prep routine consisting of Monastery skin care. Oquando says he used the Monastery Rose Cleansing Oil ($48) followed by the Monastery Flora Botanical Cream Serum and finally the Aloe Moisture Boost for that otherworldly glow under the makeup.
Mariska Hartigay
Hartigay was glammed up and prepped by celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin who also used the Monastery Made line. “I prepared Mariska’s skin for the Emmy’s red carpet with some of my favorite products,” said the makeup artist. “I started with Monastery Aloe Hyaluronic Moisture Boost to give a plumping effect and relax the skin. Then I layered the Flora Botanical Cream Serum on top and let it sink in for about five minutes. I finished by taking the Attar Floral Repair Concentrate and pressing onto her cheekbones, décolletage and hands.”
Lizzo
To get the Emmy nominated singer red-carpet ready (her Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls is nominated for best reality show), celebrity makeup artist Alexx Mayo opened up his Charlotte Tilbury toolbox and used the Instant Magic Dry Sheet Mask ($22), Magic Crystal Elixir Serum ($80), Magic Eye Rescue ($65), Magic Cream ($110) and Lip Oil ($40) to give her skin an ultra-nourishing hydration that would last all night under makeup and bright lights.
Issa Rae
“For this year’s Emmys, I pulled inspiration from Issa’s Sergio Hudson gown,” explains celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin. “The color and fit of the dress immediately took me to a place of beauty and strength. A simple black eyeliner from e.l.f. and immaculately glowing skin complemented the look perfectly. Issa’s skin is always the focus of our looks. Lancer Skincare’s products enabled me to enhance her glow to its fullest.” On deck for the prep were Lancer Skincare The Method Polish ($80), Lift & Plump Sheet Mask ($35), Triple Peptide Drops ($125), the Lancer Legacy Eye Treatment Duo ($450) and the Volume Enhancing Lip Serum ($45).
