Curacao-born Chandini Chandiramani first met Ghana-based entrepreneur Rishi Melwani online, having been introduced by a mutual friend in the middle of the pandemic. After several virtual dates, they decided to meet in the US, and that’s when they knew this was it.

The UAE was ideal for their October 2021 destination wedding because it had responded well to the pandemic. The couple liked the Fairmont Ajman— the hotel was compact, without multiple wings, had a large enough ballroom for their 150 guests and was appropriately grand, with a helipad in the middle of the ocean.

If you’re wondering what a wedding planner’s mantra would be for her own wedding, Chandiramani reveals it’s really all about maximising the fun factor. “I’ve planned so many weddings at which couples have had the best of everything but the vibe was just missing. So our focus was on creating the best memories for our guests.”
