Meet Varun Patel, a businessman from JP Nagar, who is debuting as an actor in Sandalwood. Patel’s maiden movie Kadala Theerada Bhargava is ready for release. The teaser of this movie was released recently and has got good responses. All the artistes in this film are newcomers but have attended a workshop in acting for eight months.

“I play the lead apart from bankrolling it along with my friend who also acted in this movie,’’ said Patel.

Patel’s passion towards movies is interesting. His house at JP Nagar is known for movie shootings. “Around 150 Kannada movies were shot at our house. I happened to see the shooting of the movies Preethsu Thappenilla in which Crazy Star Ravichandran played the lead and Preethse that had Shivarajkumar and Upendra as heroes. I have nourished an ambition to become an actor since my childhood,’’ said Patel.

He said that the team of Kadala Theerada Bhargava made a short movie titled as Klesha a few years ago. “Many people appreciated Klesha and advised us to make it a feature movie. Their encouragement made us make this film. I am confident of its success at the box office. It is a psychological suspense thriller,’’ he said.
