A montage of famous faces boasting about their wooden décor inside their homes is going viral on TikTok.
Dubbed Celebrity Wood Brags, the two-part supercut, which draws from Architectural Digest’s popular home-tour videos, was shared by content creator Karolyn McKenzie.
Many of the celebs featured can’t help but dive into the rich histories of the wood in question, as the clips reveal.
For example, Dakota Johnson guides the camera crew through her backyard to highlight an outdoor dining table and chair set that, she explains, ‘was made out of the wood from Winston Churchill’s yacht.’
‘I’m not lying!’ she adds vehemently.
Meanwhile in another clip, The Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli, 57, shows off an electric guitar from his guitar collection, highlighting that the wood in the custom model had been sourced from old New York buildings.
‘So, the neck of this guitar was made from wood that was recovered during the renovation of the Chelsea Hotel,’ he says, adding ‘which is somewhere I lived at one time.’
He further notes of the guitar that ‘the body was from an old bar called Chumley’s’ – a speakeasy that opened in Greenwich Village in 1922 and shuttered permanently in 2020.
As the video continues, Kristen Dunst, 41, spills that her bathroom door had once been a part of Jackie Onassis’ building.
And following her is RuPaul, 62, who upon displaying an ornately carved wooden box, gushes: ‘It’s a sewing box, and it was owned by the one and only Ann-Margret’ – the iconic performer of Bye Bye Birdie fame.
Many more famous faces expressed pride in a variety of wood elements serving both structural and decorative purposes throughout their lavish interiors.
‘So we purchased these three barns out of Wisconsin that were built by this incredible Amish community 120 years ago,’ Aaron Paul, 43, said of the origins of the wooden frame of his Idaho mansion.
He added in the original AD video that they ‘shipped out’ the material because ‘the main thing with this house, we wanted it to feel like it’s been here forever.’
Other celebrities like Peter Sarsgaard, 52, casually offers up during the tour of his home with wife Maggie Gyllenhaal, 45: ‘We do also have like a lot of teak.’
And Australian singer Troye Sivan, 28, declares from his kitchen: ‘And then just wood, heaps and heaps and heaps of wood. I love wood.’
Elsewhere, Tyrese Gibson, 44, gestures broadly toward the ceiling of a living area, declaring it to be lined with ‘the most expensive wood you’ll ever see.’
A glimpse of Patrick Dempsey, 57, reveals the actor sidling into his living room, which features a towering collection of firewood stacked up against the far wall.
He then pauses to comment: ‘My favorite part of this room is really the wood.’
In Celebrity Wood Brags Part 2, the focus turns to ‘Epic Tables.’
First up is Chelsea Handler, 48, who walks the AD camera crew up to her dining table before announcing that ‘the wood from this is from the piers in Venice, Italy.’
Next Jensen Ackles, 45, draws the crew’s attention to the porch, which, he highlights, is ‘the home of this giant cypress table,’ elaborating: ‘It was a sinker log. So it was buried in the West Bank of New Orleans.’
But showing off true Hollywood street cred was Rainn Wilson, 57, in displaying an outdoor table handcrafted by Parks And Recreation alum Nick Offerman, 53.
Of her dining room table, Hilary Duff, 35, enthuses: ‘The thing that’s epic about this table … [is that it’s] one solid piece of wood.’
Lastly, we see Vanessa Carlton, 42, sprawl over a colossal dining room table, proudly declaring: ‘This is like a tree!’
Viewers have been poring into the comments of the two TikTok posts to share their reactions.
‘Love this. Rich people love talking about wood,’ an amused commenter quipped.
‘I didn’t realize that I needed a wood brags compilation video,’ another admitted.
‘Why do they sound like me? … I love the history of wood objects lol,’ someone else gushed.
‘I recently learned that there is a whole world of rich people wood lol,’ another person joked.
Echoing the sentiment, one commenter chimed in: ‘Ok but salvaging wood to create new pieces with meaning is so cool and it’s fun to have a little history in your home.’
