Former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique still hadn’t made any direct mention to Shakira’s diss song dedicated at him and girlfriend Clara Chia. Only the girlfriend had a couple of reactions on her Instagram stories she immediately deleted. However, Pique has been quite occupied with the new soccer 7 tournament known as the King’s League. Pique is the league’s president of a tournament organized by famous Spanish and Latin American streamers that aims to entertain the masses.
During one of Friday’s streams, we finally got a glimpse at some sort of a response from Gerard Pique directed at Shakira. In the song made with Bizarrap, Shakira has a line where she compares Clara Chia with a Casio watch and she compares herself to a Rolex watch. Gerard Pique was expected to have a response to this and he didn’t disappoint. He said: “Casio has sent us wrist watches. We reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio, the King’s League struck a deal with Casio“, said Pique while the streamers couldn’t stop laughing.
Casio, a watch that will last a lifetime
Nobody during the stream was expecting this from Gerard Pique, especially not so soon after Shakira’s song was released. But Pique quickly made a last-minute announcement while he showed off a gray Casio watch. He added: “This watch will last a lifetime.” Fellow streamer Ibai Llanos attempted to play it cool and bewildered by Pique’s obvious dig at Shakira. “You must be joking”, said Ibai while the former defender gave everybody a watch.
Perhaps the funniest part of this clip is when somebody asks King’s League team owner Sergio Aguero why Pique made this announcement. He was quick to respond without missing a beat: “It was because of Shakira’s song, I think that’s why Casio is sponsoring us. Pique got anihilated by that song.”
