Let’s begin with our top story. Salman Khan’s gamble to double down on his real-life image seems to be paying off on the big screen. The actor’s latest release, the family entertainer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s day five collection will take its domestic net figures to Rs 85 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. The same report predicted that the film would not be able to pass the Rs 100 crore mark within its first week, but could see major spikes over the weekend. The film opened with the Eid holiday, making Rs 15 crore on its first day. This was seen only as a subpar opening for a Salman Khan-starrer. Globally now, the film has passed Rs 130 crore.

Meanwhile, Bhumika Chawla recently shared that she was almost cast in Bajirao Mastani. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film was finally made with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in 2015 but the filmmaker had been trying to put the movie together since his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam days. The film went through many cast options but nothing worked out. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Bhumika revealed that “this was a lot of years ago. Her screen test happened soon after Tere Naam in 2003.” The actor recalled that while she was doing a photo shoot with Sanjay Leela Bhansali while holding a tray full of diyas, one of the diyas dropped on her silk saree and it caught fire.

Priyanka Chopra, who is looking forward to the release of her Amazon Prime Video series Citadel, will attend the prestigious Met Gala in New York. The 2023 Met Gala will be held on May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Variety journalist Marc Malkin recently confirmed Priyanka’s appearance at the Met Gala and shared in a tweet – “Confirmed! Priyanka just told me she will be at the MetGala on Monday. Says her look ‘will be on the theme’ because she loves a theme but it will also have a ‘special element’.” The theme of this year’s Met Gala is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.

Moving on. Alia Bhatt in a recent interview, said that she is a bit of a ‘control freak’ but that becomes a bit difficult when a baby comes into the picture. Alia and actor husband Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child, daughter Raha, last November. Speaking about her balancing act, Alia told Vogue, “I’m not putting too much pressure on either Raha or myself to be together as a family unit with Ranbir all the time. She’s just five months old and I’m so impressed with how well-behaved and peaceful she is. I, as a new mum, have the right to have terrible days too. I’m such a control freak. I always want to ace things and usually have everything under check.”

The series, created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, also stars Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah. She was speaking during a panel of the ‘National Conclave on Mann Ki Baat @100’ on Wednesday, April 26th. Tandon, the star of the 1990 and early 2000s Hindi cinema, also said the film industry should learn from sister mediums TV and OTT platforms, which are the leaders in paying women better and producing shows with female protagonists, respectively. Dhulia recalled that during lunch hour, Shah Rukh would finish his lunch as quickly as possible and then would take a nap on the floor of the tour bus. He said – “His boy would put out a sheet for him on the floor and he would sleep. Shah Rukh never hesitated.”

Lastly, Ronit Roy recently took to his Instagram to share a cryptic post that suggested he was betrayed by someone close to him. The actor, who was recently seen in Shehzada, has now explained the post’s meaning. He told ETimes, “It is just that this episode has happened three-four times now, so I couldn’t just stop but share the wisdom that I gained from it. There are some people who have tried to play mind games with me. I am a simple man, who likes to stay away from everything complicated. Some people can do anything for their careers, I am not one of them.”
