In our top story. Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan’s booking has already opened up in the United Arab Emirates weeks ahead of the film’s release. One of the fan handles of the star shared that cinema chains Vox, Novo, Reel, and Roxy have started the bookings already. The handles of the cinema chains also announced that the tickets were now available for booking. Another handle shared that the bookings were also now open in the US. The Atlee directorial is SRK’s second release of the year after Pathaan, which created history at the box office.

 

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday, 16th August, took to social media and thanked his wife Gauri Khan for raising their children – Aryan, Suhana and AbRam – ‘well’. Suhana Khan, who will soon make her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, recently attended a book launch event, accompanied by her mother Gauri. Gauri posted a few pictures and videos from the event. SRK retweeted Gauri’s post and wrote – “ The circle of life is closing in for us with our babies helping us complete it. You’ve done so well with the three of them – educated them, taught them dignity & desire to share love. Suhana is so articulate but the dimple is mine!”

 

Actor Saif Ali Khan celebrated his 53rd birthday on Wednesday, 16th August. The actor spent quality time with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, daughter Sara Ali Khan and sons Ibrahim, Taimur, and Jeh Ali Khan. Sara posted a picture on her social media, giving a sneak peek into the intimate birthday celebration. In one of the photos posted by Sara, she is seen standing with Taimur, her father Saif, with her brother Ibrahim carrying baby brother Jeh on his shoulders. Sara wrote in the caption – “Happiest Birthday to my dearest Abba.” Kareena also shared the same picture on her Instagram account and wrote, “And it was a Happy Birthday indeed.”

 

Moving on. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday will share screen space for the first time in Dream Girl 2. But before the film’s release, the co-stars showed off their dancing prowess in the movie’s latest track “Naach”. The song was released on Wednesday, 16th August and shows Ayushmann and Ananya dancing with energy in what seems like a festive celebration. The song is sung by Nakash Aziz and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Ayushmann also posted the track on his Instagram handle and wrote – “Aaj gully apni dance floor hai! Toh Naach!” Directed by Raaj Shandilya, Dream Girl 2 also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, and Vijay Raaz. The film will release on August 25.

 

Actor Disha Patani has now turned director, with a new music video, which features her as well. The music video for the single “Kyu Karu Fikar” shows her in a carefree avatar. Disha shared the song’s teaser on her social media handles, giving fans a glimpse of the fun music video. She wrote in the caption – “Within life’s mystery, where the future is unknown. Could self-love be the key—the magic we’ve always known?” The song is composed by Vaibhav Pani, sung by Nikhita Gandhi and written by Vayu. Upon sharing the teaser, many of Disha’s fans and friends commented on her post.

 

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor appears to have reacted to the ongoing controversy started by actor-producer Rana Daggubati’s recent remarks. The controversy began when Rana narrated a story about his friend, actor Dulquer Salmaan, quietly bearing with unprofessionalism on the sets of an unnamed movie, opposite a ‘big Hindi cinema heroine’. People online were quick to jump to conclusions and decided that he was talking about Sonam. Sonam shared a quote by former First Lady of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt on Instagram stories. She wrote – “Just a little something I’d like some people to know, especially when discussing things about people that are made up.” The quote reads: “Small minds discuss people; average minds discuss events, great minds discuss ideas.”

 

Veteran actor Dharmendra took to his social media to share heartwarming pictures with actor Aamir Khan and Aamir’s son Azad. Joining them in the photoshoot was Dharmendra’s younger son, actor Bobby Deol. In his post, Dharmendra also remembered his 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat, which marked Aamir’s debut as a child artist at the age of 8. Sharing the pictures, he wrote, “ Bahut hi pyaare mulaaqaat. Aamir aur uske pyaare bete ki saath. Yaadon ki Baaraat.” Directed by the renowned Nasir Hussain, who was also Aamir Khan’s uncle, the film featured Dharmendra and Zeenat Aman in leading roles. Dharmendra is currently receiving praise for his performance in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

 

Lastly, while promoting her new JioCinema show Taali, actor Sushmita Sen spoke to indianexpress.com about overcoming a heart attack and the learnings that came from the episode. She shared with a broad smile – “I was always in love with life, and I still am and always will be. I think that was one of the reasons it was hard to take me like that. It did make me realise that I have seriously important unfinished business. And I have to be more aware of what I have left to do. You don’t come back from an episode like that, all hale and hearty. There’s a reason why I am still here. So let’s make it count.”
