Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was in Dubai for the promotions of his upcoming film Pathaan. Videos of the actor watching his trailer play out on the Burj Khalifa went viral on Saturday, 14th January. The star, who will return to the big screen after four years, was dressed in black casuals, paired with a matching jacket as the trailer played. He also did his signature arms pose. Shah Rukh was in Dubai for the opening ceremony of the International League T20 which was held earlier in the day, and for his Pathaan promotions. The Siddharth Anand directorial, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, will release on January 25.

Sinha’s post saw comments from fans and artists from the film industry. Social media users were also happy with the picture and lauded all the “legends” coming together. Sinha is now gearing up for the release of his film, Faraaz. Starring Zahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal in the lead roles, Faraaz is directed by Hansal Mehta.”
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty took to his social media handles on Sunday, to share his New Year resolution. The filmmaker also shared an action-packed clip from the sets of his upcoming Amazon Prime Video web series Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty Kundra in the lead roles. Along with the video, Rohit wrote, “New year resolution…NO SIMPLE & STRAIGHT work.” Previously, Rohit had shared that he got stitches on two fingers after he met with an accident on the sets of the show. But the director took no break and got back to complete the last schedule in Hyderabad. Rohit in his post also shared that he will commence the pre-production of Singham Again after his ongoing project.

IPA announced the winners of the Special Achievements Awards recipients for its 27th Annual Satellite Awards in Motion Picture and Television over the weekend. Bhavin won the Breakthrough Performance Award. Directed by Pan Nalin, Chhello Show is a Gujarati film set in a remote rural village of Saurashtra. It follows the story of a nine-year-old boy who begins a lifelong love affair with cinema when he bribes his way into a rundown movie palace and spends a summer watching movies. Rabari said he hopes to make India proud with more wins in the future.”
“The wait for Akshay Kumar fans is all set to end as his film “”Selfiee”” gets a release date. The Dharma Productions’ entertainer, also starring Emraan Hashmi and Nushrratt Bharuccha will hit cinemas on February 24.
On Sunday, 15th January, the team shared the first look of the film, which hints at it being a ‘superstar vs superfan’ story. In the motion poster, we see a huge placard of Akshay and then a man being held by security officers. Emraan Hashmi will essay the role of a policeman, presumably dealing with the case. Selfiee is the official remake of the 2019 Malayalam-language comedy-drama Driving Licence. The original Malayalam movie was directed by Lal Jr from a script by Sachy. “
Meanwhile, Actor Sanjay Dutt recently opened up about his battle with cancer. Sanjay was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in August 2020, when the world had just been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The actor, along with his sister Priya Dutt, attended an event at a hospital, where he opened up about his cancer diagnosis. Sanjay, who was then shooting for his film Shamshera, said that the news about his cancer wasn’t shared with him properly. Sanjay Dutt also revealed it was Hrithik Roshan’s father Rakesh Roshan who suggested the doctor to him. At the event, Sanjay also shared that while he recovered, he did not want to keep the world in the dark about his diagnosis.
Lastly, Actor Ajay Devgn‘s hit mystery film Drishyam 2 has been released on Amazon Prime Video. On Friday, 13th January, Ajay said he is excited to take the film to a larger audience with the OTT release. Drishyam 2 was released in theatres on November 18, 2022, and received a positive response. Besides Ajay Devgn, the film stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Akshaye Khanna. The Drishyam sequel enjoyed a great run at the Indian box office with a collection of Rs 239.59 crore.
