In our top story. Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri says he is not in the “Bollywood game” and hence doesn’t believe in terms like box office clash. The filmmaker on Twitter was asked about the clash between his upcoming film The Vaccine War and Shah Rukh Khan’s actioner Jawan, to which he responded – “I can guarantee SRK’s Jawan will be an all-time blockbuster. But after seeing it, please see our small film about India’s greatest victory in a war you know nothing about.” Jawan is scheduled to release on September 7 while The Vaccine War will open in cinemas on September 28. The Vaccine War will have a box office face-off with Prabhas-starrer Salaar.

 

Moving on. Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the cast of Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming directorial “Vedaa”. Starring Sharvari Wagh in the title role, the movie will feature high-octane sequences and gripping action. Actors John Abraham and Abhishek Banerjee are also part of the project. Tamannaah told PTI – “I’ve always admired the way Nikkhil tells his stories. He has a knack and this ability of his is extremely endearing. John and I also get to work together for the first time. It definitely will be exciting to see what my character will bring in.” Advani, known for directing “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, D-Day” and “Batla House” said Bhatia has made a mark with many “sensational performances”.

 

The makers of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released the film’s second song “What Jhumka” on Wednesday, 12th July, and upon the release, fans discovered that the song carries bits from the popular retro song “Jhumka Gira Re”. Now, music composer Pritam has said that this was their way to pay ‘homage’ to one of the most popular Madan Mohan creations. On Twitter, Pritam shared – “The entire film is a homage to those great musicians and great songs and goes perfectly with the script and setup of the movie”. The song’s music credits on YouTube have been attributed to Madan Mohan and Pritam. Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi have given the vocals for the song.

 

Meanwhile, Actor Kartik Aaryan has started shooting for his upcoming movie with filmmaker Kabir Khan. Titled “Chandu Champion”, the film is backed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Kartik took to Instagram on Wednesday, 12th July and shared the news along with a photo with the “83” director. He wrote – “Shubhaarambh. And the most challenging and exciting journey of my career begins… with the captain himself – Kabir Khan.” The film will be jointly produced by Nadiadwala and Khan. According to the makers, the film is based on the extraordinary real-life story of a sportsman and his spirit of never giving up.

 

After Adipurush, it is going to be difficult for any Indian filmmaker to attempt a film based on Ramayan. But it seems like filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is going ahead with his plan of bringing it to the big screen. In a recent interview, the Dangal director opened up about his film. In a chat with Zoom Entertainment, Nitesh was asked about his idea to take up Ramayan in the current climate, post-Adipurush, and the filmmaker confidently said, “My question is very simple. I am also a consumer of the content that I create and if I’m not going to offend myself then I’m very confident that I might not end up offending anybody else.”

 

Meanwhile, actor Suniel Shetty has become an inspiration for many in terms of maintaining fitness. Despite his age, he remains incredibly fit. In a recent interview, he disclosed that he looks up to Amitabh Bachchan for motivation. During an interview with Mid-Day, Suniel expressed his admiration for Big B and shared – “The energy of Mister Bachchan. Despite all the problems he has, he will never show it at work. He never carries it into work, I mean what kind of a mindset is that? What is it that drives that mind to constantly learn and to get better and deliver better? These are the kind of people that inspire me.”

 

Veteran star Hema Malini says that there is no reason to hold grudges against anybody, both in her personal life and in her professional life. In a recent interview, she was asked about maintaining a cordial relationship with actors Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra, both of whom she was said to be romantically involved with. Hema and Jeetendra reportedly even came close to tying the knot, as their respective families felt that it was the correct thing to do at that time. She told Lehren Retro, that she didn’t believe in holding grudges as such things happen in life. She said that one should never keep anything in their heart and instead “forgive and forget.”

 

Lastly, Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who was married to actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi recently took to Instagram to share a poem about how he is “only human.” In the poem, it appears that Shekhar is talking about being jealous, and confused. In one section of the poem, the Mr India director spoke about being compassionate, creative, and also spiritual. Towards the end, he talks about learning from the mistakes in life. Shekhar and Suchitra were married for nine years before they parted ways. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Suchitra shared, “I don’t think marriages break because of infidelity, they break up because of disrespect.” Suchitra had earlier accused actor Preity Zinta of breaking the marriage.
