In our top story. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for his next release, titled Jawan, directed by Atlee. Since the film was announced, fans have been intrigued by it. Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday, 9th July, SRK shared a new motion poster for the film. Along with it, he wrote, “Main punya hoon ya paap hoon? Main bhi aap hoon.” Jawan’s trailer was unveiled today. One fan wrote, “Ready for it..another blockbuster loading.” Jawan also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, among others. Jawan will release in theatres on September 7.

 

Moving on. Director Nitesh Tiwari has added a pinch of World War 2 history in his upcoming film, Bawaal. The film revolves around a history teacher from Lucknow who embarks on a journey in Europe only to discover the war within him. The trailer of Bawaal was released on Sunday, 9th July. The trailer begins with the introduction of Varun Dhawan’s character Ajay. He is a history teacher in Lucknow who has established a fake public image and holds it very dear. He meets a beautiful Nisha, played by Janhvi Kapoor. The duo quickly tie the knot and jet off for a trip to Europe. However, the narrative takes a dark turn. Bawaal premieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 21.

 

The makers of Oh My God 2 have released a new video showcasing lead actor Akshay Kumar’s detailed look. The film’s teaser will release on July 11th. OMG 2 is the sequel to the 2012 hit film Oh My God, which starred Akshay and Paresh Rawal. In the new video, Akshay Kumar is seen channelling Lord Shiva as he dons a black outfit and sports a hair bun. His look is completed with curly long hair and kohled eyes with ash smeared on his forehead. Apart from Akshay, the movie also features actors Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in prominent roles. OMG 2 is set to hit the theatres on August 11th and will clash with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2.

 

Meanwhile, Producer Ekta Kapoor recently announced the sequel of her 2010 film Love Sex Aur Dhokha. While the first film revolved around love and betrayal, the poster of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 hints that the film will tackle social media addiction. Ekta, in her caption, spoke about the love people have for social media validation. The poster shows a man snorting Facebook likes with a roll of money. Ektaa wrote in the caption, “Who needs roses and chocolates when you can have likes and reposts?” The sequel will be directed by Dibakar Banerjee, who also helmed the original. The details of the cast have not been revealed yet. LSD 2 releases in theatres on February 16, 2024.

 

Manoj Muntashir, who wrote the dialogues of Prabhas-starrer, Adipurush, was severely criticised for his work on the Ramayan-inspired film. Over the weekend, weeks after the film failed at the box office, Manoj took to social media and extended an apology, accepting that “people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush.” Taking to Twitter, Manoj wrote, “With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation.” Manoj, who is a revered lyricist, poet, dialogue writer and screenwriter has reportedly also penned the dialogues of Kangana Raanut’s upcoming film Sita as well.

 

Meanwhile, Actor Kangana Ranaut recently took to her social media platforms and praised veteran actor Sharmila Tagore’s performance in her film Gulmohar. Taking to her Instagram story, Kangana shared a picture of Sharmila and wrote, “Recently saw a lovely film Gulmohar, was beyond delighted to see veteran superstar Sharmilaji back on screen. Her screen presence, voice modulation, and nuances in her performance were like the warmth of winter sun.” Kangana then posted another story about Waheeda Rehman. Posting a picture of Waheeda, she wrote, “Now, hoping to see Waheeda ji in full-fledged role soon.” On the work front, Kangana will star in Tejas and Emergency.

 

Actor Vicky Kaushal is basking in the success of Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke with Sara Ali Khan released in theatres last month. As per Bollywood Hungama, the film has had a successful run in theatres and minted a total of Rs 84.66 crore. The actor has now confessed that before signing the project he had some reservations about the film. Talking to Hindustan Times, Vicky shared- “People’s love is our biggest motivation and encouragement to keep bringing stories which we feel instinctively. I had my reservations about the film, but looking at the packed houses and people resonating with the subject goes beyond numbers.” Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur.

 

Lastly, actor Huma Qureshi recently opened up about the controversies surrounding films and added that people should not watch films they don’t like. In an interview with Aaj Tak, Huma was questioned about films like The Kerala Story, Adipurush and Pathaan. In response, the actor said – “Social media has empowered everybody and now everybody has an opinion. But not all opinions are right. And according to me, if someone has made a film and you don’t like it, then don’t watch it. But I think all types of films should be made. Every film finds its audience.” The actor also said that people should start talking about the real issues over such petty issues.
