Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, the multi-talented artist, opened up about his identity as an actor-singer and the symbiotic relationship between his acting and music career. The versatile star shared his perspective on being an actor who sings, emphasizing his love for music.

In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann Khurrana stated, “I am an actor. I have always maintained that I am an actor who sings, not vice versa. The love I get because of music is also highly influenced due to acting.”
He further added, “I am a purist at heart. I am not a classically trained singer, there is a texture and I sing from heart. This is my only talent. But I am a purist at heart. I myself hear classically trained singers, like their songs, hear instrumentals. If I wasn’t an actor, there is no chance I would have been a singer. Even I go to the concerts, people buy tickets also because I am an actor. So, me being an actor is also beneficial for me as a singer.”
On the film front, Ayushmann is currently gearing up for the highly anticipated Dream Girl 2, where he will portray the character of Karamveer Singh. The story of the first film in the franchise revolved around a jobless youth who finds success by impersonating a woman named Pooja at a call centre. The sequel to the 2019 film will see Ananya Panday as the female lead. The film promises another dose of entertainment.
