Angeles City — Local entrepreneurs will receive full support from the city government to further showcase their products not only nationwide but globally.

This was announced by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. on June 30, 2022 during his inaugural speech at Barangay Kutud. Lazatin said his administration will extend every possible support to export industries and enter into viable and strategic partnerships with rural, small and medium enterprises.

Through the assistance of the Angeles Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (ACEDIPO), the city will participate in trade fairs locally and abroad to promote and identify possible markets.

In his first term as mayor of the city, the “One City, One Product” (OTOP) program was a priority. Lazatin also said that the OTOP souvenir center of the city administration will be revitalized.

Twenty-one local merchants display products in the store, but Lazatin aims to expand it to promote food products as well, while expanding technical support for small businesses to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the same way to help them in packaging and marketing.

During the pandemic, local business is one of the hardest hit sectors, says Lazatin.

With the resources the city has at its disposal, it can exhaust the funds to help them, knowing that their talent and skills deserve the world’s spotlight, Lazatin revealed.
