Eclectic Dressing Is All The Rage At Copenhagen Fashion Week Right Now

[ad_1]

Are the days of Scandi minimalism over? If the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week are anything to go by, the answer is, quite frankly, yes. From neon brights and crop tops to cowboy hats and sequin skirts, eclectic dressing is all the rage in the Danish capital.

Of course, there’s a degree of peacocking going on, as is always the case when the fashion week circus rolls around. But still, as Vogue Runway’s Laird Borrelli-Persson notes, there is a definite vibe shift taking place in Copenhagen right now, with a grittier side to Nordic fashion on display.

Neon brights have dominated the pavements during Copenhagen Fashion Week this season.

While the colourful designs of Ganni, Stine Goya and Rotate remain popular among the Scandi street style set, rising brands such as (Di)vision, Jade Cropper and P.L.N. are attracting a different crowd to the shows – and with it, an edgier aesthetic. Streetwear is just as popular in Copenhagen as it is elsewhere, while plenty of punk-infused looks, and leather, have been seen on the pavements, too.

Even those who are more committed to the minimalist aesthetic aren’t just sticking to sharp tailoring in a monochrome palette anymore. Whether it’s a raised hemline or a bralette underneath, traditional Scandi style has had a revamp.
