Who’s getting ready to show Daniel Snyder the money?

That’s the question that has the NFL buzzing after the Washington Commanders announced this week Snyder is preparing to sell his team, or at least a minority share in it.

Bloomberg reports “Media entrepreneur Byron Allen is preparing a bid for the Washington Commanders in what would be his second attempt this year to acquire a National Football League franchise.”

Allen previously tried to buy the Denver Broncos, who went for $4.65 billion to the Walton-Penner family ownership group, headed by Walmart heir Rob Walton; his daughter, Carrie Walton Penner; and her husband, Greg Penner.

TMZ reports Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos also are interested in buying the Commanders. “And, we’re told a partnership between the men is on the table.”

Still no word yet if New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Josh Harris might jump into the bidding. He also tried to buy the Broncos earlier this year. Harris already is a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and would’ve had to sell his share in order to buy the Broncos.

PFF’s Ari Meirov reports “Forbes valued the Commanders at $5.6 billion in August.”

ESPN reports Snyder bought the franchise for $800 million in 1999.
