The Syria response program includes food security, WASH services, shelter and NFI services, protection, early recovery and livelihoods.

Case Management Worker x3 (2 in Azaz, 1 Afrin_Jandaris)*

in Azaz/Afrin

The position is to be filled by September 11, 2022. Two Case Management Officers will work in the Azaz office. One case management officer will be based in the Afrin office. The position is paid at SG4 [[paygrade]]

Reporting directly to the Case Management Officer (based in A’zaz and Afrin) and the Project Officer (Protection) based in the Gaziantep office, CMWs are responsible for the execution of case management activities through proper use of direct information provision , facilitating support, referral pathways and assistance funds for individual protection and special needs for protection outcomes.

Your responsibilities

  • Carry out protection risk analysis, participatory action planning, implementation and follow-up as part of a traditional 6-step case management program according to WHH’s internal case management SOPs and under the supervision of a case officer for each client.
  • Be part of the mobile protection desk to connect vulnerable individuals with the right service providers through referrals and direct cash assistance for protection outcomes
  • Communicate with service providers to ensure effective and appropriate interventions and follow-up, including escorting to service points and other facilitative support
  • Ensure client needs are correctly identified and addressed and supported in a timely and appropriate manner, prioritizing safety, privacy and meaningful participation
  • Proactively use and update integrated service mapping and referral paths
  • Work closely with other members of the Mobile Protection Desk and non-protection staff to ensure additional needs are identified, addressed and followed up in a holistic and integrated manner
  • Collects, monitors all necessary documentation of the client and stores it in an orderly form
  • Maintain an accurate and confidential client file and keep track of all necessary figures and data related to case management
  • Provide regular and accurate data for reporting case management activities as required
  • Proactively report security vulnerabilities and contextual trends for informed programming
  • Respect customer privacy and rights.
  • In close coordination with outreach workers, being fully aware of the community structures and the protection and security situation of the affected population and develop strong relationships with different members of the refugee community using an age, gender and diversity approach.
  • Through relationships with individuals of concern and a network of other stakeholders, keep abreast of political, social, economic and cultural developments that impact the defense environment.
  • Report all field incidents to the case officer immediately.
  • Provide social support to the affected population, including raising awareness/disseminating information on rights, access to services, regulations and other relevant topics.
  • Identify age, gender and disability sensitive risks, threats, vulnerabilities with regular wellbeing monitoring and negative coping strategies.
  • Undertaking other project tasks as required.
  • CMW is expected to support all accountability efforts to the affected population, in particular to clients and to Welthungerhilfe’s Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).
  • CMW must ensure that all interventions adhere to Welthungerhilfe’s Gender Policy, Do No Harm principles and AAP standards.
  • Maintaining mutual respect for other team members as part of a friendly work environment.

Your profile

The position is open to Syrian nationals only • Education: University degree/diploma in human rights, social work, social sciences or other clearly related disciplines preferred.* • Work experience: Minimum of two years’ professional experience in a similar position, in particular defence, public services, social work and human rights. preferably in a non-profit organization* • Skills/Knowledge: – Experience in case management activities and IPA and SNF modalities.* – Experience in conducting safeguarding risk assessments and focus group discussions* – Experience in conducting conflict sensitive interviews, assessments * – Experience in using mobile data collection tools and/or other smartphone applications* – Excellent written Arabic.* – Previous experience in protection activities* – Experience working in insecure and remote locations and reporting to remotely located leadership – Experience working with migrants, refugees , internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; * – Ability to summarize disparate information in a clear and concise manner. – Previous work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental or governmental institutions/organizations in a multicultural environment is an advantage. – To be able to travel. – Proven analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. – Excellent use of MS Office products including Word and Excel.* • Social skills; – Ability to work in a team. • Language skills: – Proficiency in Arabic is required. * – Working knowledge of English is an advantage. • Knowing the local context: Candidates who have work experience and knowledge of the local context in A’zaz and/or Afrin are preferred.
