Hailed as one of the most prestigious global cinema events, the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival opens today. Finally taking place after two years of Covid, Cannes 2022 will be seen bringing back the red carpet galas at the Palais, stars making heads turn at the Croisette and the film press getting lined up. While this year is big being the 75th, what makes it all the more special for Indians all around the world is that India is the ‘county of honour’ at the Marche du Cinema.

Cannes 2022: Here are all the Indian celebrities and films set to shine at the film festival
To honour the Indian cinema, six Indian films will be officially screened at the festival this year including R Madhavan’s Rocketry The Nambi Effect, Nikhil Mahajan’s Godavari, Achal Mishra’s Dhuin, Shankar Shrikumar’s Alpha Beta Gamma, Biswajeet Bora’s Boomba Ride and Jayaraj’s Tree Full of Parrots.
In addition to this, a few other Indian films will also be screened in different sections including Satyajit Ray’s 1970 Pratidwandi, Saunak Sen’s critically acclaimed documentary All That Breathes and G Aravindan’s Thampu, among others.
