If there is one actress who has risen above all others this year, not just in Bollywoodbut also through any other film industry in the country, then it should be Alia Bhatt. The lady had a year in Ranking (Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmastra and an extended cameo role RRR), which, with the exception of a few, most have never had the pleasure of even taking a whiff of Indian cinema. And with the business end of 2022 approaching, it’s no surprise that the actress is racking up laurels left, right and centre. After being donated with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Alia has already been awarded the prestigious international Time Award.
Alia Bhatt delivers a moving speech on women empowerment
To mark the occasion of receiving the Reward for timeAlia Bhatt took her official entertainment news Instagram hand and shared a video of the same while writing in the caption that there are too many rules for women right now about how loud or timid they can be, how curvy or thin they’re allowed to be, how they have to have ambition but never be conceited, or even how women should be ambitious in this day and age, yet not overdo it, clearly highlighting the downsides of such an attitude being allowed to flourish.
Alia Bhatt wants women everywhere to celebrate imperfections
Continuing in her post, Alia added that because there are so many rules, women often feel, either fully aware or unconsciously, that “in order to be liked, to be loved, to be good,” they must be completely flawless, yes be “an impossible, mythical creature that can only truly exist on the pages of a fairy tale.” She emphasized how over the past 10 years she has fully realized an important point that she “subconsciously knew all along” – that imperfection is boring, because flaws are what make a person special, make them who they are.
