Also starring Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani starrer, Govinda Naam Mera is a comedy film with a touch of suspense. Bhumi plays the role of Govinda’s wife in the film. The actress recently spoke about the pay gap in Bollywood between actors and actresses. She also talks about how it exists in the west as well. This happened when the topic of pay disparity was discussed at a round table in which other Bollywood beauties also participated.
Bhumi Pednekar talks about pay inequality in Bollywood
Bhumi Pednekar’s statement on pay inequality goes viral on Entertainment News. This comes after Priyanka Chopra spoke about the pay gap in Bollywood. Bhumi sat alongside her Bollywood co-stars Tamannaah, Huma Qureshi, Rakul Preet Singh and Alaia F. Sharing her thoughts on the pay gap, Bhumi shared that she might have Rs 100-200 crores in her kitty but she won’t be getting anything like this of her male counterpart. The actress said that the situation will not change only with women voicing their opinions, but it should be done from all aspects.
Bhumi Pednekar also spoke about how the west, meaning Hollywood, also has a pay gap and yet their lead actors defend them. “The disparity was also in the west, but the men there stood up for the women. They said they will either reduce their salary or get the same remuneration,” said Bhumi, adding that although she does not need anyone to stand up for her, there has been no acknowledgment on the subject so far, reports Indian Express.

Bhumi Pednekar expresses her disappointment
The Ladykiller actress revealed that producers expect her to be grateful to be cast in the film. Bhumi differs on this point, saying that they approached her or chose her because of her credibility. However, films were always presented to her as possibilities. Huma Qureshi and Rakulpreet echoed her sentiments.
