While Siddharth Shukla’s physical presence is sorely missed by his loved ones and legions of fans, his legacy is something that has taken everyone by surprise. And when one talks about it, Bigg Boss 13 instantly comes to mind. His season was the most volatile, intense and compelling yet. Siddharth Shukla was the content king on the show. But he never wanted to do Bigg Boss in the first place. His long-time friend and one of television’s most famous fashion designers, Ken Ferns, makes a surprising revelation in an EXCLUSIVE chat with Bollywood Life as we reminisce about star Balika Vadhu in a series.
Ken Ferns told us, “Bigg Boss 13 was also offered to me. As we know, he was in talks to be on the show. At first he was very hesitant, but when he found out that I had also approached me, Sid called me every day, he said, sign up, let’s do this together. We will go to the final together. Of course I didn’t, but there wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t convince me. He called and kept asking, ‘Are you doing it?’ and give me chichhori gaalis when I said no (laughs out loud)”
Ken Furns recounts the days leading up to the final. He seems to be one of the few allowed inside as he has to make costumes for the grand finale. Ken Ferns, You Won’t Believe It. I entered the house three days before the final. He dragged me to the bathroom the moment I walked in and said, “You should have done it, we would have been in the top three together. I’d make sure you get to the finish line. I don’t know how to describe this. We had met after so many days and that was the only thing on his mind. Siddharth was like that. He made sure all his friends in the house had a great time on the show.”
Reflecting on the final, Ken Furns says: “We were so nervous, all his friends. Moments before the announcement was made, we were literally dying inside. It was important. I was out and rarely have I seen a large audience thronging in such numbers to see a Bigg Boss winner.”
