“Balancing a full-time job and taking care of yourself is extremely challenging”

Earlier this year, actress Kajal Aggarwal and her husband Gautam Kitchlu became parents for the first time to a baby boy and named him Neil. After giving birth, Kajal had taken a break from films and it was reported that she preferred to enjoy motherhood to the fullest. As Neil turned 6 months today, Kajal penned a touching note for her son and talked about balancing a full-time job and taking care of him.

“I can’t believe how fast the last 6 months have gone or the profound change that has occurred in my life. I went from a scared young woman holding a squirming mass to her chest and wondering how I was going to take care of him to doing my mommy duties and learning as I went. Of course, balancing a full-time job and making sure I never compromise my time, attention, love, care for you is extremely challenging, I wouldn’t want it any other way and I never imagined enjoying it so much much to those fleeting moments of Babydom!” she wrote on Instagram while sharing an adorable photo of Neil.

She continued: ‘Now you’re rolling on the floor, rocking left to right, stomach and back – like it happened overnight? You have your first cold, your first blow to the head, your first time in the pool, the ocean, and you I started trying foods. Your dad and I joke that you’re going to college next week because time flies so fast. You have already left the helpless newborn you were so short ago! I am in awe of how you embrace every little moment of life and often overwhelmed by the great responsibility God has blessed me with as your mother! It is, as they say, the most challenging and rewarding job I will ever have. Happy half way to 1 my love my baby Neil.”

Meanwhile, Kajal is back to work on director Shankar’s much-awaited Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. She recently shared a photo of herself on Instagram enjoying a horse ride. She said after that, honey, our bodies may change, but our indomitable spirit and burning passion need not.

She also revealed that she has been studying Kalaripayattu for more than three years now. She had shared a video of her during a Kalari session. She also expressed her happiness to get back into filmmaking training, learn new skills on the job and pursue them as a hobby afterwards.
