Andhra Pradesh government has decided to do away with personal interviews for recruitment and limit the process to written only
Review.
“Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a historic decision to do away with personal interviews in recruitment.
He directed the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to conduct the recruitment process in a transparent and error-free manner,” a release from the Chief Minister’s office said.
The Chief Minister on Thursday held a meeting to review the proposed annual recruitment calendar for filling vacant government posts.
The chief minister announced last month that all recruitment tests for government posts will henceforth be held from January 1 to 31 every year. Accordingly, Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam directed all government departments to make a list of vacant posts.
Priority will be given to filling vacant positions in departments providing emergency assistance to citizens. The CMO release said the Chief Minister wants to involve experts from IITs and IIMs in conducting recruitment examinations.
Officials told the Chief Minister that every recruitment notification issued by the APPSC ends in litigation. “The Chief Minister wanted the Commission to ensure that the entire process is conducted in a reliable and transparent manner to avoid legal issues,” the release added.
