Using antique and deadstock materials, Angelina Jolie intends to start a purpose-driven fashion company that will function as a collaborative of creative talent.
The upcoming launch of Atelier Jolie was announced on the Instagram account of the actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian.
She added that the talented fashion employees she had worked with during her career, from pattern makers to tailors, had served as inspiration for her to start the company.
“Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world. It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression,” Jolie explained.
She signed off her post with “more soon”.
On the newly launched @atelierjolie Instagram account, Jolie described the business as, “A place to have fun. To create your own designs with freedom.”
