It’s undeniably the most anticipated night in the world of celebrity, but this year’s Oscars weren’t just about celebrating epic acting, incredible fashion design and Ke Huy Quan being the nicest man in the film industry. This year’s 95th Academy Awards were more than just a fabulous champagne-coloured carpet and gold statues, it was a family affair.
Yes, we’re always obsessed with the cute celebrity couples working their way past the step and repeat, carefully negotiating the correct level of PDA as they go but, this year, it was all about the families showing up at the Oscars. And there were more than a few.
Nominated for his role in The Whale, Brendan Fraser chose to share his big night with his sons, Leland and Holden. Fraser’s sons expressed how proud they were of their dad, telling Laverne Cox on the red carpet, ‘We are unbelievably proud. Over the moon.’
Also choosing to bring their kids as their date to the awards show was Julia Louis-Dreyfus who attended with son Henry Hall, Jennifer Connelly who shared the evening with son Stellan Bettany and Colin Farrell who stayed close to son Henry at the star-studded event.
Salma Hayek rounded out the wave of A-list mini mes, colour co-ordinating her incredible sequinned dress with daughter Valentino Paloma Pinault in an adorable mother, daughter moment.
