Alia Bhatt’s plans to attend an overseas award show were disrupted due to an unfortunate family emergency. Reports suggested that the actress had to skip the event because of her maternal grandfather, Narendra Razdan, who is currently in critical condition. Mr. Razdan has been battling illness for some time, and he was previously admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for a lung infection. As his condition deteriorated, the doctors initially considered moving him to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, a decision was later made to keep him comfortable in his room instead of transferring him to the ICU.
Alia Bhatt’s grandfather Narendra Razdan critical; actress cancels award show trip
Alia Bhatt, as reported by the Times Of India, had reached the airport for her scheduled trip but made the decision to stay back due to her grandfather’s situation. A source told the news portal, “Mr. Narendra Razdan is Soni Razdan’s father and Alia’s grandfather. He has been in the Breach Candy hospital for quite some time now. He had a lung infection which got worse. In the morning, the family got a distress call that the doctors wanted to shift him to the ICU. There was a decision taken not to take him to the ICU, but to make him comfortable within the room. He’s 95 and as of now he’s in the sunset hours. Alia turned back from the airport because she didn’t want to be there at the award function while her grandfather was going through a very vulnerable time.”
On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated to release in theatres on April 28, 2023. In her pipeline, she also has director Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. Apart from this, she also will make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone.
