On the second day of NMACC, celebrating Indian craftsmanship, Amit Aggarwal’s custom ensemble for Priyanka was crafted by pairing a 60-year vintage Banarasi Brocade Saree made with silver threads and gold plating on khadi silk, draped and structured with toned jewel molded body made from unique crafted material and paired with signature holographic sequined bustier.
The holographic bustier adapts traditional techniques for a contemporary look by twisting the colored yarn on which the thin wire (lame) is wound of silver and flat wire (badla) — in turn heavily woven with gold thread.
The brocade was placed over an ikat braid used as a base to craft the bustier, crafted with Amit’s signature sheet sequins in holographic hues to reflect the nine colors of ikat.
