This is because Aamir Khan wanted to remake Dangal magic with Laal Singh Chaddha in China. However, according to reports, Netflix offers only Rs. 80-90 crores and according to a Bollywood Hungama report, the deal was later reduced to Rs. 50 crores after the box office performance. The makers are also said to have reduced the asking price and settled for Rs. 125 crores and also watched an OTT edition of Voot. But again there is a twist.

Aamir Khan, the makers of Laal Singh Chaddha and Netflix have once again renewed their talks to release the film on OTT. According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, after the heated discussions last time, both the makers and the OTT major managed to agree on the terms after realizing that the deal could be beneficial for both. For Aamir, he stands to gain from Netflix’s global reach, while the OTT major’s faith in the film was restored after its overseas box office performance. Talking about the box office figures, Laal Singh Chaddha earned US$ 7.5 million (Rs 59.89 crore and earned Rs 56.03 crore in India till August 22) at the end of the second weekend. It became the biggest overseas release of 2022 in international markets, beating Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi by just a margin [USD 7.47 million] and competes against Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 [USD 5.88 million] and the Kashmir Files [USD 5.7 million]. Aamir Khan’s Netflix Undercut?
And there is good news for Aamir Khan fans and those who missed the movie in theaters and were waiting for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha OTT. The film won’t wait six months for its OTT premiere, but follows an eight-week window before hitting your home screen and phone. However, manufacturers had to further reduce the asking price. According to the same report, this is somewhere between Aamir’s price of Rs 125 crore and Netflix’s offer of Rs 80 crore. But it is still below the Rs 100 crore mark.
