Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan lead Laal Singh Chadha was among the biggest releases of the year, but unfortunately it also turned out to be the biggest flop. The movie just couldn’t make money at the box office. Although Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan went all out to promote their film, Laal Singh Chaddha did not register as many footfalls at the theaters as expected. Laal Singh Chaddha flopped and so did Aamir Khan. Made on a grand scale, the producers of the film had to incur huge losses due to its failure at the box office. Will Aamir Khan share the loss?
Entertainment News: Aamir Khan to waive his royalties?
Recent reports suggest that Aamir Khan has decided to waive his fees for Laal Singh Chaddha so as not to burden the producers further. If he collects his fees, the loss to the producers of Viacom 18 will amount to Rs 100 crore, says a report in Bollywood Hungama. He has decided to take the entire loss and blame himself for the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. A source said that he gave four years to the film but did not earn a single penny. The source was quoted as saying, “He has given four years to the film but has not earned a penny from it. His opportunity cost for Laal Singh Chaddha is over Rs 100 crore, but he decided to take all the losses, taking the blame for the failure entirely on himself.” There is no confirmation of the report yet.
Aamir Khan releasing two new movies?
While he still seems to be coming to terms with the setback he suffered in the form of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan is reportedly set to star in two big-budget films. One will be produced by him and one by someone else. However, his Mogul has been shelved indefinitely.
