Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:

  1. The Sandy Springs Police Department reports that it is investigating the burglary incident at Mariah Carey’s home. The incident is reportedly part of a series of crimes targeting celebrities in the Atlanta area. The department believes that a local gang is behind the series of celebrity crimes. Residents are reminded to not post vacation updates during a vacation to social media. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. Fulton County is searching for more than 2,000 poll workers for the upcoming General Election. The new workers will staff 36 advanced polling locations between Oct. 16 and Nov. 4. They will then staff 240 locations on Nov. 8. Click to apply to be a poll worker. (CBS 46 News)
  3. Fulton County Schools has appointed two new elementary school principals. Shante Bates will lead Conley Hills Elementary in East Point, while Takisha Bennings will lead Barnwell Elementary School in Johns Creek.
